Breakout (A Dallas Demons Hockey Romance) by Aven Ellis

While Texas is known for loving football, Lexi Stewart has always been drawn to the ice. Hockey is her passion, and she wants nothing more than to pursue a career in video editing for the home network of the Dallas Demons hockey team.

Lexi has an editing job for a corporate account, but it’s not fulfilling. Nor is her dating life, despite having the so-called help of The One Online Dating Service. Lexi knows there has to be more for her—on both fronts. She’s ready to take the next step, but it doesn't seem like it’s going to happen anytime soon.

Until a flying puck changes everything.

Niko Xenakis is the new Dallas Demons TV producer, and he’s looking to make his mark in his new role and hopefully work his way back to his hometown of Baltimore. But once he meets Lexi, he might just change his mind on what he wants for his future . . .

But the road to love is never easy, complicated by the fact that they both carry emotional baggage from the past in their hearts. Can these two “breakout”of the past to find love in the present?

I would like to thank author Aven Ellis for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

As with all of Aven's covers I love this cover and feel that it really shows the romance of the book.

Breakout follows Lexi and Niko story and as with all of Aven's books this incredibly sweet.

Lexi has a passion for hockey, but the job she wants to do is male dominated and hard to break into, until Niko comes along and recognises her passion and talent.  Lexi also has her demons and is trying to move on from them.

The way the couple meet is really sweet and I loved following them through the drama of their relationship.  I also had to laugh at the return of some familiar faces Kenley's mom CiCi is hilarious and certainly had me laughing like a teenager.

Niko is once again another hot hero of Aven's and I got to say how much I love him and his passion for his job, he is one of my favourite book boyfriends, he is hot and greek, did I mention how hot he is?

Aven also treats us to other hot men in the guise of my number one book boyfriend Nate Johansson, also book boyfriend number two is in this, Harrison.   How could I go wrong with so many hot heroes available?  There are also other hockey players that I hope will make it into Aven's other books.  What more could I want?

I devoured this book in one sitting as I always do with Aven's books

I have read somewhere that Aven is the queen of book boyfriends and I would totally agree with that statement, with every book I fall in love with another man, I'm such a book slapper.

Another fantastic read from Aven that will have you ooooh and awwing all the way through.

Aven Ellis has been writing fiction since she was sixteen. She studied communications at a large Midwestern university, and after graduation, Aven worked as a reporter for a community newspaper, followed by a stint at a public relations agency.

But writing about city council meetings and restaurant franchises was not as much fun as writing for young women trying to figure out their careers and potential boyfriends. So Aven got herself a job in television that allowed her to write at night. Connectivity is Aven’s debut novel; Waiting For Prince Harry and Chronicles of a Lincoln Park Fashionista are her other novels.

Aven lives in Dallas with her family. When she is not writing, Aven enjoys shopping, cooking, connecting with friends on social media, and watching any show that features Gordon Ramsay.
