SHANNON’S LAW Blurb...
Wild child inner city cop Shannon Aguerri walks a dangerous line between her methods and justice. When the bosses lose their nerve, after yet another maverick mission, she is transferred to green pastures to play out the role of a routine village cop. When she encounters signs of people and drug trafficking she homes in on serious millionaire criminals. As a loner she has attracted men but nothing has stuck. She meets Spencer, the hunky and widowed Earl of Bloxington and there is an immediate rapport between them. Their social differences mean nothing to their passion and need. Already in the mix however, is an upper class female rival – who has long plotted her way into the Earl's bed. The jealousy is an evil shade of green and the anger is a violent scarlet. Often inhibited by a sense of duty and honour, Spencer is slow to reveal his feelings. When Shannon confronts him with the need to choose between her word and that of her rival, he does not immediately support her. All the same, when they are forced together to carry out a desperate rescue mission, their love is stronger than everything ranged against them.

Follow Your Fantasy by Nicola Jane

What They Say:

Your Erotic Adventure Starts Here…

Welcome to the thrillingly erotic world of Follow Your Fantasy – a world where you, the reader, chooses what happens next.

As the story deliciously unfolds, exciting, sexy and downright naughty adventures await your every decision…

You might end up in steamy encounters with one man or woman, or more! In hotel rooms or high class casinos, on porno sets or at bachelor parties. Or, if there’s just too much choice, you can always go back and try again.

Remember, even if you choose submission, the control is still all yours.

Follow Your Fantasy is a new type of Erotica which gives the power back to the reader. It’s a collection of short stories based around a central thread and with recurring characters. But the most important character is You – a daring, sexy, open to adventures You on a night where anything can happen. Where will your fantasies take you?

What I Say:

I would like to thank @harperimpulse for approving me on Net Galley to read this book, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

As I say I am more a reader of other fantasy novels, not the erotic type of fantasy but sometimes it is good to read something different.  I had read the follow your adventure books when I was younger and loved them, so follow your fantasy I knew how the format worked but not how it would work in this case....

The books are written as though you the reader is in a bar, when a stranger hands you an envelope stuffed with cash and a key card, here is where your adventure starts.

Do you do a runner with the money? (Couldn't help but follow this one). Do you hand it in? (Nah that's boring). Do you go up to the room? (daring), I loved trying the different scenarios, and even when I did taking a different turn each time, some where steamy, some I didn't expect what happened next.

All I can say is I hope there are more of these books, I have had this books few weeks and still keep picking it up and following another fantasy a different way, think I may have exhausted them all by now, loved it.

Nicola's writing makes each scenario believable and that is why I kept trying the different scenarios.  An absolute must if your like something a bit different.

I think I might have to go hunting for some follow your own adventure books for old times sake.

Harperimpulse please release more like these books.

Singles Holiday by Elaine Spires

What They Say:

Singles' Holiday

Elaine Spires' second novel was Single's Holiday, set on her beloved Antigua... the Caribbean at its most luscious, its most beautiful... silver sand, cobalt sky, warm, turquoise sea... and a bunch of complete strangers who only have one thing in common: they’re single!

Some are looking for romance and some for something more... but they've all chosen to spend their holiday with people they have never met before.  Pretty soon some become great friends, some enemies and some lovers, but it is perhaps their tour leader Eve who has the biggest shock of all.

Glorious days on the beach, boozy, balmy nights and a pending tropical storm combine in a story to make you laugh and cry with just the right number of twists to keep you turning the pages as you get to know all the members of the group as they, in turn, get to know each other.

What I Say:

When @kimthebookworm asked bloggers to get in touch as she would be doing a tour I wasn't sure who it would be for, I'm glad I agreed to review this book.

Eve is a tour rep for Travel Together a Singles Holiday company, I wasn't sure that I would like this book as you all know I love my vampire, werewolf books etc, but I really did enjoy it.

I liked Elaine's detail of the travel and the resort in Antigua, I would love to visit this resort, hope it is based on a real place. From this you can tell Elaine has experience of the travel industry.

Eve, is really lovely even when she has some of her guests moaning about one thing or another,  it makes you wonder how real tour reps keep their patience with some holiday makers.

I loved the way your found out each guest story and wasn't bombarded with it at the beginning, it was like being on holiday and meeting different people around the resort.  All the characters were funny, sometimes annoying as in the case if Geri, easily likeable and just like holiday guests you would meet anywhere on holiday.  I could see people I had met in some of the characters in this book.

The story was never boring, a nice read it would be especially so if you were sat by a pool as you could picture each guest in turn.

The 2 characters in the book I didn't really take to were Huw, never really did find out his problem and Melv, don't know there was something about him I just couldn't take to.

I didn't see what was coming on the day of the Storm, that was an added excellent twist to the book.

I read Elaine's interview with Kirsty @loveofagoodbook and I understand this is to be made into a stage show, I will look out for it coming up North.  The link to Kirsty's interview is below, please give her blog a visit as it's a great blog with a really interesting interview with Elaine.

I look forward to reading the next book Sugar and Spice, can't wait to catch up with Eve and some of the guests.

DELIVER ME by Kate Jarvik Birch, coming April 15th from Bloomsbury Spark.

Blurb:
One People. One Union. One Future.
Wynne’s entire life is dictated by the Union: the clothes she wears, the books she reads, even the genes she inherited. And like every other girl in the Union, Wynne dreams of being chosen as a Carrier on her 16th birthday—one of the elite selected to carry the future generation within her womb. Wynne and her best friend Odessa are certain they will both make the cut, but when Odessa is chosen and whisked off to a life of privilege, Wynne is left behind to work as an assistant, delivering babies for the Union.
As Odessa slips deeper and deeper into the role of Carrier, Wynne begins to see the Union for what it really is: a society that criminalizes the notion of love, and forbids words like mother and family.
For the first time in her life, Wynne is faced with a choice: submit to the will of the Union, or find a way to escape and save Odessa before she is lost forever.

Guest Post - by Jack Croxall

I have the pleasure of a wonderful Guest Post by Jack Croxall

That Difficult Second Album Novel
I was very lucky with my first novel, Tethers. It gainedthousands of downloads, received hundreds of lovely reviews and it even topped an Amazon best-seller chart –Steampunk. But I have a confession. When I first published Tethers, I had no idea what steampunk actually was.
I’d never heard the word until readers started using it in their reviews, and, in the end, I had to Google the term just to find out what it meant. However, after a bit of research, I had lots of fun delving into some exciting steampunk books and watching some crazy steampunk films too. For anyone still a bit lost, here is a rough overview of the genre:
Steampunk is a sub-genre of sci-fi and fantasy typically featuring steam-powered machinery, often in a setting inspired by or relating to the industrialised 19th century.
Obviously, my steampunk confusion meant that it wasn’t me who put Tethers into the steampunk category on Amazon. But, somehow, it ended up there (tagged by a helpful reader or by some Amazon boffin perhaps?) and before I knew it, the bookwas at #1! Great right?
Well, that little triumph didn’t come without its problems; I was already well into writing the second book in the series, Unwoven, and there is no sinister, steam-powered machine in that book like there is in Tethers. In fact, Unwoven is probablya lot closer in style to a typical historical fiction novel. Is thata problem? Well, if I’ve built up a significant steampunk readership, then I wouldn’t feel too great about myself if I let them down, so possibly!
Next, it was panic stations as I frantically debated whether I should go back to the drawing board and transform the entire plot into a more steampunk-y oneIn the end, I decided not to. I realised that, in discovering steampunk for myself, I’d found an awesome new genre to get excited about and enjoy. I thought, most readers are like that, rightThey want to read lots of different, exciting stuff just like I do. And so Unwovenis pretty much as I initially imagined it, missing sinistermachinery and all.
We’re still cool, right?

The Guestbook Blog Tour by Holly Martin

I am so happy to introduce a content post from The Guestbook by Holly Martin.

Welcome to Willow Cottage – throw open the shutters, let in the sea breeze and make yourself completely at home. Oh, and please do leave a comment in the Guestbook.

As landlady of Willow Cottage, the young widow Annie Butterworth is always on hand with tea, sympathy or strong Norfolk cider - whatever her colourful array of guests require.  A flick through the messages in the leather-bound cottage guestbook gives a tantalizing glimpse into the lives of everyone who passes through her doors.

This includes Annie herself - especially now celebrity crime writer Oliver Black, is back in town. He might grace the covers of gossip magazines with a different glamorous supermodel draped on his arm every week, but to Annie, he’s always just been Olly, the man who Annie shared her first kiss with.

Through the pages of the Guestbook Annie and Olly, along with all the guests that arrive at the seaside retreat, struggle with love, loss, mystery, joy, happiness, guilt…and the odd spot of naked rambling!

Forget sending postcards saying ‘wish you were here’ - one visit to Willow Cottage and you’ll wish you could stay forever.

There is a review today on http://artisticnonsensedaily.blogspot.co.uk/

Today we bring you an interview The Daily Moon held with Annie Butterworth
Willow Cottage is beautiful, what made you decide to open a holiday cottage?
That was Nick’s idea.  The cottage next door came up for sale not long after we had married.  Nick wanted to buy it and make it into a holiday cottage.  We didn’t really have the money but the people next door were willing to sell it for a very reasonable price. Simon and Leila from The Frog and Rhubarb donated some money, saying it made good business sense to attract tourists to our little village.  Nick didn’t want to take the money at first, but Simon told him he would ban him from the pub if he didn’t.  Nick wasn’t going to take that chance.  Olly wanted to buy it outright for us, but there was no way Nick would let him do that.  We spent weeks decorating it.  Three months after we were open, we were pretty much full every week.  I admit, I was hesitant about it at first, but I love meeting the guests.  Some wonderful people have passed through our doors over the last few years.

Your husband recently died, it must be hard for you to continue the business now he’s gone?
It was hard to do anything after he died.  Even getting out of bed was an effort.  But Nick had put a lot of hard work into Willow Cottage and it seemed only right that I continued with it after he died.  There was insurance money too, which I’ve used to do the place up.  I think Nick would be very happy with how it looks now.

Oliver Black, bestselling author of seventeen crime thrillers, is your brother-in-law.  All of his books have been made into films.  What’s it like to have someone so famous in the family.
I’m incredibly proud of him, he’s done very well and rightly so, his books are amazing.  He’s very, very talented.  But fame hasn’t changed him.  He’s still the same boy I grew up with.  He’ll always just be Olly Butterworth to me.

In an interview he once said that you were his first kiss.  Has there ever been any kind of relationship between the two of you.
Ha! He was thirteen, I was eleven.  I went for a walk on the beach after dark and he followed me.  It started to rain hard and we took shelter in one of the broken abandoned beach huts.  He kissed me.  It was lovely.  The next day he was kissing Sally Jenkins.  I threw my chicken paste sandwich at him and it stuck to his hair. I didn’t speak to him for a week.  That was the extent of our relationship.  Nothing romantic has ever happened since.

Mary Gillespie said you were in love with them both growing up, that if it was legal you would have married both of them.  What do you say to that?
Mary Gillespie has a sweet romantic heart and I think that she would have liked to see that happen.  I was very fond of Olly, but I loved and married Nick.

After your husband died, Oliver stayed with you for six months.  There were photos in every national newspaper of you two holding hands and hugging.  Are you seriously saying nothing happened between you during that time?
Nothing happened.  My husband had died.  I wasn’t in any fit state to do anything let alone jump into bed with my brother-in-law.  I thought you were here to do a piece on Willow Cottage and the tourist industry in Norfolk. These questions are a bit personal for my liking.

The night before he left, a source said they were walking past your house and heard you two having sex.  Apparently it was very noisy.
No one in the village would have said that.  Quite simply because it isn’t true.

Quite a few people in this village believe you and Oliver are in love, what do you say to that?
Olly is with Vivienne Lake, they are engaged.  Nothing has ever happened between him and me and it never will.  If the villagers have spoken to you, which I doubt, they may be telling you what they would like to see happen.  It would certainly tie everything up in a neat little bow for them if we were to get together.  But Olly is in love with Vivienne and I simply don’t have any feelings for him.  I suggest if you want more information on Oliver Black you contact his manager or his agent.

Interview terminated.
