The Chateau by Karen Aldous

What They Say:

Can young hearts ease a restless spirit?

On the shores of stunning Lake Geneva, Gina Remy is celebrating her brother’s wedding – when the figure of a woman appears hovering above the water, beckoning to her. Ghostly visitations do not happen to Gina - a self-confessed control freak with her own successful property business, she prides herself on being level-headed. But as she is tormented by dreams and visions, her perfect life begins to unravel, and she knows she needs to help this ghost find peace if she’s to get any of her own!

Enter Ollie Martin, an Anglo-Swiss property developer who’s sexy as hell and knows it. His arrogance annoys Gina, but he’s the only one who will take her seriously… and the closer they come to understanding the quest the ghost has set for them, the closer they get to one another…

What I Say:
I would like to say thank you to Carina UK for approving me to read this on NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.  Also when asked by Tay would I take part in the blog tour I jumped at the chance to move this book up my TBR pile.

When we first meet Gina she is arguing with her long term partner Max it's the same argument over his commitment issues.  Especially as they are attending Gina's brothers wedding.

Gina bumps into the loud brash Ollie, but Ollie isn't really loud and brash it's the drink that's talking.  Gina and Ollie keep being thrown together due to circumstances.

Gina starts to have vivid dreams and she is convinced there is more to these dreams/nightmares they seem all too real.

Karen even throws in a mystery that had me guessing and I found I was dying to find out what happened next.

Having read Karens debut novel earlier in the year I was hoping this would live up to the same quality as The Vineyard and not only did it live up to it, The Chateau surpassed it in so many ways.

If you haven't read either of Karens books I suggest you do. I couldn't help like her characters, some are so easy to like and sometimes they are frustrating but that all adds to a wonderful book.
