The Definition of Icing
Release Date: May 27, 2015 Soul Mate Publishing
What They Say:
Kenley Hunter finally has everything sorted out. Fresh from studying chocolate making in Europe, she's gambling everything on her new business, Confection Consultations.
All Kenley wants in life is people to take her seriously, to see the person on the inside rather than the blonde beauty on the outside. While pursuing her passion of chocolate, Kenley discovered people seek her knowledge. They see past the exterior and fall for the chocolate delights in front of them.
So with work as her focus, Kenley is ready to start her career in Dallas. Men are out of her recipe, because she fears that once they get past her looks, they’ll be disappointed in what they find. Kenley decides she's all about the chocolate now.
Or is she?
Because a chance meeting with new Dallas Demon hockey star Nate Johansson might change everything. Sent to Dallas in a blockbuster trade, Nate is somewhere he doesn't want to be, for reasons that have caused him heartbreak on multiple levels. Nate knows he will never trust a woman again after what happened to him in Minnesota.
But when he meets a woman with an intriguing name and a passion for chocolate, Nate isn't so sure about his theory. And he might just learn a definition of icing other than the one used in hockey with Kenley as his guide...
What I Say:
I would like to thank author Aven Ellis for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. I would also like to say how much of an honour it is to be part of Aven's beta reading team and love you all.
This is the second book in the Dallas Demons series from Aven, the first being Waiting for Prince Harry, as I have the very great privilege of beta reading this book months ago I decided for this blog tour to reread both of the books and I can honestly say that I couldn't put either of them down again.
We first meet both Kenley and Nate at a photo shoot for Dallas Details magazine, Kenley is an incredibly beautiful women who men never see past her looks to her brains. The staff at Dallas Details are the same and want to use this for the photo shoot. Nate walks into the shoot by stripping off his shirt, whoa. This had me gripped and I can honestly say I loved him from this very moment.
Don't get me wrong both Kenley and Nate have their demons, Kenley is insecure about how men feel about her and her looks. Nate has trust issues after his devastating last relationship culminating in him been transferred to Dallas. One of the first things about this story is the chemistry between Nate and Kenley it sizzles off every page. I love the relationship between Kenley, Lexi and her family. I also love Harrison and Nate's relationship both on and off the ice.
Aven also introduces some old faces in Harrison and Kylie from Waiting for Pince Harry, (sorry Harrison but you've been shoved off number one by Nate). We also get to meet some new characters in Lexi, Kenley's lovely best friend, Nate's sister Holly and Kenley's hilarious mom CiCi. I love how CiCi stalks tumble.
I love that Kenley is really passionate about her business and she isn't just a pretty face. What do I love about Nate? Everything, he's caring, passionate, strong and oh so swoon worthy, everything I could want in the perfect book boyfriend and believe me he is oh so perfect.
So in short this is Aven's best book so far and everyone will fall in love with this book like I have done and it really does help that Nate is so gorgeous. I will say that at one point this story had me in floods of tears, it's a wonderful and beautifully written story. I literally can't say how much I love this book.
