Code Red Lipstick (#1) Blurb:

Models, spies and lipstick gadgets... When Jessica's father, a former spy, vanishes mysteriously, Jessica takes matters into her own hands. She's not just a daddy's girl who's good at striking a pose; she's a trained spook who knows how to take on MI6 and beat them at their own game.

What Jo Say's

I would like to thank Faye and Scolastic for sending me a copy of these books in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The pace of this book is set from the very first page where Jessica is on a modelling assignment before school as she is only 14. Jessica is shocked to find she hasn't received a text message from her overprotective dad who has OSDS (Overprotective Single Dad Syndrome). She is even more shocked to find that he has gone missing along with the man who was supposed to be looking for him.

This story is aimed at teenagers but I found it to be a fast paced easy read even for an adult, with lots of gadgets everywhere. If you love gadgets then you will love this Spy book. Jessica is a lovely character and the story had me gripped.

Title: Fashion Assassin (Jessica Cole: Model Spy #2)
Genre: Contemporary / Crime YA
Publisher: Scholastic
Format: Paperback
Pages: 300
Published: 1st January 2015

Fashion Assassin (#2) Blurb:

Models, spies and lipstick gadgets in this fast-paced teen series. Supermodel Jessica Cole has no intention of ever spying again after she was nearly killed by an embittered ex-model and a rogue MI6 agent. That is until she's blackmailed into posing undercover as bodyguard to a very rich fellow model. What seems like a simple job aboard a luxurious yacht in Monaco soon turns into a deadly mission to stop the most dangerous weapon in the world falling into the wrong hands. Jessica will need every gadget in her make-up bag if she wants to get out of this one alive.

What Jo Say's:

I would say I have been very lucky to read all three books in one go and the second in this series doesn't disappoint.

This sequel it just as good if not better than the first book I was treated to some fabulous locations along the way.

What more can you want from a spy novel, hot dresses, lots of action and mystery, also the gadgets are back.  Jessica is still a really strong inspiring character which I loved from a book aimed at teenagers just to show that you can do anything you put your mind to.
Jessica is struggling as her dad is in hospital, her godfather is also ill and her modelling career is floundering due to an MI6 agent with a grudge.

This book would put some adults books to shame with its intrigue.  With every page it had me guessing what would happen next and I have to say I everything I guessed at was totally wrong.

Teenage girls will love this.

Catwalk Criminal (#3) Blurb:

Models, spies and lipstick gadgets in this fast-paced teen series. Jessica Cole has been recruited to Westwood, MI6's secret division of supermodel spies. Her first official mission seems simple at first, until it turns into the biggest cyber-attack ever known, threatening the security of the whole country. Then it emerges there is a traitor in the midst at MI6 - and suddenly Jessica herself is being accused. With no one believing her innocence, and the country on the verge of chaos, Jessica has no choice but to take matters of national security into her own hands and catch the culprit - fresh from the catwalk.

What Jo Say's:

Wow again Sarah Sky didn’t disappoint in this third instalment of the Jessica Cole series.  She really is back with a bang, as with book two this is set six months after the previous books and with every book we see how Jessica is really developing as a character.

Every page had me turning to find out what would happen next, especially they theme around Jessica’s mum and how she died, I really wanted to know.

As with previous books nothing goes to plan and Sarah shows Jessica to be exceptionally resourceful.

With this book we don’t have the fabulous locations but is set a little bit closer to home which I really enjoyed.

Can’t wait to read more and find out how Jessica develops and hope there are many more books to come.
