How does it feel to be coming to the end of the series and would you consider revisiting the same characters?

With the release of the fifth and final book, Restoration, in The Revelation Series, I’ve been asked a lot how I feel about the series coming to an end. To be honest, I’ve gone through every emotion in the book, and some I didn’t know existed. Writing five books in under two years was extremely stressful. I didn’t want to let readers down. For me, I needed each book to be better than the last. It was quite a bit of pressure I placed on myself as a new author, which trickled down to my family. In that respect, I’m a bit relieved the last book is releasing. With my next two series, I have clearer and wider timelines, which in turn will allow a more balanced family-work life. That said, it’s very hard to close my mind’s door on these characters and this series. When you live in a pretend world for two years, and immerse yourself in the characters and world building, it’s a bit jarring to step away and not revisit them daily. There are times I do something in real life and say to myself, wow that was such an Asher or Callan moment. I’d actually finished the book a few months ago and the first two weeks were very strange. I walked around a little lost. I guess I could equate it to when your kids go to school after being home for the summer and everything is silent. You’re a little sad, wander, and then find something to lose yourself in. Once I started writing again, it got easier. Now, I’m just excited. I’m excited for the readers to find out how Eve and Asher’s journey ends. I’m excited for what’s next. The series was just picked up by Tantor Media to be available on audio. I’m really excited to start getting out and meeting readers and promoting the books, something I didn’t do previously because I was so focused on writing and finishing the series. I’m also excited for my other projects and to release them. Would I revisit the same characters? I’m not sure. As a reader, the allure of falling in love once with a series or characters is that first introduction. There is something very special about this series as it is, I don’t know if I would do the series justice by extending or layering onto it. Though, one never knows!
