WHAT THEY SAY:

My name is Hunter O’Shea and I have a confession to make…I’ve met a girl who consumes me. I know that makes me sound completely whipped, but Mary “Lamb” Mitts has the power to bring me to my knees…it’s just too bad she hates my guts. But that’s okay, because I hate hers, too. The fiery redhead stirs something in me that I can’t explain.
This temporary insanity could be due to the fact my best friend, who used to be a bigger player than me, is getting married. That must be it. I’m caught up in an Oprah moment.
The only solution is to get back in the game and forget she exists. That theory is great—too bad I don’t want anyone else.
I…just…want…her.
I’m so screwed.

What I Say:
I would like to thank author Monica James for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Two years ago I was lucky to be one of the first to read Addicted to Sin (now retitled Dirty Dix) and fell in love with bad boys Dixon Matthews and Hunter O'Shea. Don't get me wrong you do not need to have read the previous two books to fall in love with Hunter as he only appears briefly in those books but he appears enough for me to want to read his story from as soon as I met the character.

Hunter is the ultimate love em and leave um bad boy but as soon as he met Mary he could never get her out of his head no matter how many beautiful women he slept with. Mary is no pushover and is more of a match for Hunter, she ultimately the one he wants.

Mary is Dixon's soon to be wife Maddy's best friend and as she has been hurt in the past has trust issues and won't let anyone in.

The chemistry between Hunter and Mary fizzes on every page and the sex scenes will have you reaching for something to cool you down as you read.

What I love about Monica's book is just as you think everything is going to work out she brings everything crashing down!

Another fabulous addition to the Addicted to Sin (Dirty Dix) series and would recommend it even if you haven't read the other books

EXCERPT:
Something is happening and I have no idea what. Mary’s eyes drop to my lips before she uneasily licks hers. Her flushed cheeks, dilated pupils, and heavy breathing all point to one thing—but that’s not possible. This woman hates me, all delicious, lithe five-foot-four of her wants me dead.
So why is she not slapping my cheeks and calling me a dirty manwhore when I inch closer to her lips? And why am I not slamming on the brakes because I don’t kiss—ever, but that rule seems to be obsolete when the supplest pair of lips are a hairs breadth away?
I’m rolling in her perfume. Slathering it all over my body and inhaling it like a new drug. She is all goddess, and if I don’t touch her, I’m going to explode.
Placing my palm to her cheek, we both moan at the contact, and when she parts those lips, I’m as good as gone. “Hunter, wh-what are you doing?”
My name has never sounded sweeter. “Shortcake, I don’t know…you tell me.” The ball is in her court. I’m liquefying and my brain turned to mush about fifteen minutes ago, so I’m in no state to be the one calling the shots.
“I…I…” she fumbles, never breaking eye contact.
“You what?” I ask, tugging at the lobe of her ear, before tracing my pointer down her throat. Her pulse is hammering, a sure sign she’s about to either surrender, or flee.
“I…oh god,” she whimpers, biting her lip when I work my finger back up and paint over her jawline in a slow sweep.
“You have three seconds…three seconds to stop me before I part those lips with my tongue, and I won’t be gentle about it.”

What They Say:
‘Laugh-out-loud funny, emotional and festive… This is THE Christmas read of the year without a doubt. Absolutely loved it from beginning to end.’ Mum Reinvented

A dream family Christmas or a total nightmare? Katy and Ben are about to find out...

Katy’s been stuck in the office away from her family so she wants it all: snow (fake or real), the Michael BublĂ© Christmas album, whatever it takes.

There’s only one thing missing as far as her husband Ben is concerned: another baby to complete their family. But Katy isn’t so sure she's ready yet…

Ben may be playing the role of Master Elf in the pre-school nativity but he is struggling to master his own family life. With romantically-challenged friends, an ex who refuses to go away and Katy's mum's 64-year-old toy boy thrown into the mix, Christmas looks like it could be going off the rails… Never mind family planning, can Katy and Ben even plan to make it to the end of Christmas Day?

From the no. 1 bestselling author of No-one Ever Has Sex on a Tuesday, this book will make you cry with laughter, and then book your flights abroad for the festive season. Perfect for fans of Marian Keyes, Sophie Kinsella and Milly Johnson.

What I Say:
I would like to thank Bookouture for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This is the third book in the 'No One has sex series' but can also be read as standalone book.

We meet Katy and Ben and we follow their hilarious preparations for Christmas along with all the trials and tribulations that come with Christmas.

Although I loved this book and it had me laughing out loud all the way through I feel I missed a lot with not reading the previous books but that is my fault as I do have these to read.

In the book there is many other character and not just Katy and Ben to follow.  The whole book mirrors every day life and had me giggling away.

Author Bio:

Tracy started writing when her cruel, heartless husband ripped her away from her dream job shopping for rollercoasters for the UK's leading theme parks, to live in America with a brand new baby and no mates. Blog Tour and Review - Playing Defense by Aven Ellis

Dallas Demons #5 - can be read as a standalone
238 pages
Publisher - Soul Mate Publishing, LLC
Release Date - 27th September 2017

What They Say:

After a string of bad set-ups and boring dates, Reese Brannon is done with men. She’s focused on her job as a fitness model and blogger. Her life in the city is fun. She’s young. There’s no need to look for a man because she doesn’t want one. Especially when relationships usually end in heartbreak.

Jean-Pierre Rochat—known as JP— is done with women. All this Swiss hockey player has ever wanted is to fall in love, but his relationships never end with a happily ever after. Believing he’s always going to be dealt the friend card, JP is over it. If he’s going to be stuck in the friend zone, he’ll keep things casual for his new endgame.

But will one hot Dallas summer night change everything for Reese and JP?

Because when the two meet again when JP returns for hockey season, Reese finds her attraction to him hasn’t waned since their first meeting. Charming and intelligent, JP is different in all the right ways, but Reese realizes letting him in will make her vulnerable, something that terrifies her. JP never forgot Reese from their initial introduction last winter, and the sparks fly for him even more so the second time. But with Reese, his thoughts are anything but casual . . .

Can JP and Reese let their guards down to take a chance on love? Or will this simply be a game of playing defense?

What I Say:

I would like to thank Aven Ellis for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Aven Ellis is back with another book in the Dallas Demons hockey series and this one is an absolute dream.

JP is sweet and kind, but the girls he met didn't want sweet and kind they want the usual hockey bad boy and this was why his relationships failed. However, he was perfect for Reece she'd been with bad boys before and needed someone just like JP.
Aven brings a sweet romance that sizzles on every page and the chemistry between her characters is amazing. The first kiss in this book is the best that Aven has ever written and I can't wait to read more of her books.

I love Reece's addiction to Oreos and don't understand how JP can drink something cold without ice in it, but these quirks are what makes Aven's books stand out from others. I also like that she includes sports into the books but they never overtake the story and we just touch on the life of a professional athlete.

In a lot of ways you know what you will get with Aven's books, she has hit upon a formula that works. Including a sweet romance with a hero and heroine that both have issues and need to find each other but it time honoured tradition the course of true love never runs smoothly. I always find myself holding my breath and praying it all works out. With every book she writes, she manages to come up with fresh ideas and the stories never become boring or predictable.
Aven also keeps us in touch with characters from previous books and how their lives are going which for me makes these books even more special.

Blog Tour and Review - Christmas at Mistletoe Cove by Holly Martin

Title: Christmas at Mistletoe Cove

Author:  Holly Martin

Amazon Links:

What They Say:

Christmas has arrived at Hope Island, promising snowflakes, surprises and plenty of seasonal joy. So snuggle up and fall in love at Mistletoe Cove …

Growing up on Hope Island, Eden Lancaster always believed that if you wished hard enough for something, dreams really could come true. But Eden’s greatest wish is also her biggest secret: she has been completely in love with her childhood friend, the charming and attractive Dougie Harrison, for as long as she can remember. And he has no idea.

When Dougie leaves his successful life in New York to return home to Hope Island for good, Eden can’t escape her feelings. Her heart is full of hope that her romantic dreams are finally, at long last, going to come true…

This Christmas could change everything. But can a lifelong friendship really turn into the perfect romance? And will Eden get the happily ever after she’s always wished for?

Christmas at Mistletoe Cove is like a warm hug on a cold winter’s day. The perfect treat this Christmas for fans of Debbie Johnson, Cathy Bramley and Miranda Dickinson.

What I Say:

I would like to thank Bookouture and Holly Martin for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This book in the third set in lovely Hope Island series and follows two characters that we have previously met in the series.  Having said that this book can be read as a standalone and it wouldn't affect the enjoyment of the beautiful squishy Christmas story.

What is special about this is that Eden and Dougie have already shared a kiss but are not sure of each others feelings.

The book makes me feel like Christmas is only a week away and I want to be curled up with mulled wine and wrapping Christmas Presents.  As far as I am concerned Holly has managed to capture a beautiful romance and the magic of Christmas all rolled into this book.

What I Say:
I would like to thank Holly Martin and Bookouture for approving me to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I have to say Holly has done it again with her lovely sweeping story of love and heartbreak showing the way for a heart to heal after tragedy.

I fell in love with Freya and Rome is Holly's previous book but this can be read as a stand alone without needing to know anything from the first book as Holly keeps the reader informed every step of the way.

There is also plenty of laughs along the way, which is the highlight of all Holly's stories and she doesn't over do the descriptive writing but gives you just enough to pull you in and want to find out more.

Rome is another of Holly's hot heroes who had me swooning in parts and my heartbreaking in others as he struggled with his feelings.  Freya is a lovely character and I really did feel for her.

I would like to thank HQ Digital for approving me to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The accidental honeymoon..... fab book from start to finish, loved the story and the fact it was written about a place that's not too far away from me. Reading this book after reading all of Portia's books and it's just what I expected from her, all her books have been brill.

What happens in Vegas.... poor Georgie never expected her boyfriend to cheat on her but waking up after a night in Vegas to find she is married was truly unexpected..........but who to? Going back home from L.A to her family in Blackpool a family wedding but will her husband reveal himself?? All these questions kept me glued to each page until I had finished the book.  An absolutely amazing fun story.

Only one way to find out, read the book I can assure you, you will not be disappointed!

Thank you, Portia Macintosh, for another fab read.

Guest Post
When it comes to actually writing something, and then actually letting other people read it, you realise quite quickly that you’re going to need a very thick skin if you’re going to succeed.
First up, if your work is being published, you’ll have to go through the editorial process, where multiple people will tell you everything that is wrong with that thing you’ve been pouring your heart and soul into for months. And you know it’s part of the job, and you know that these people know what they’re talking about, but it’s still tough to take.
Then your books go to reviewers – another very important part of the process – and for the most part their reviews are fair and they make very valid points. Every now and then though, you will encounter a reader who not only didn’t like your book, but they feel like they need to express this online, and they’re not going to pull any punches. When this happens, you remind yourself that not everyone is going to like your book, just like you haven’t liked every book you’ve ever read, but it’s still hard to read when they’re laying into you plot, your characters, your writing style and sometimes even who you are as a person.
The best way to deal with this is to just accept it, and learn to ignore it. You can’t please everyone and that’s fine. Read reviews if you want, but don’t get upset if they’re not great. They won’t all be great.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. I put my book out there and ask for people to tell me what they think, but it’s a bit like asking your boyfriend if your bum looks big – you can’t exactly be upset if he says yes, can you? Actually, scrap that last bit. The answer to questions about how you look never be anything less than be amazing.

Author Info:
Portia MacIntosh has been 'making stuff up' for as long as she can remember - or so she says. Whether it was blaming her siblings for that broken vase when she was growing up, blagging her way backstage during her rock chick phase or, most recently, whatever justification she can fabricate to explain away those lunchtime cocktails, Portia just loves telling tales. After years working as a music journalist, Portia decided it was time to use her powers for good and started writing novels. Taking inspiration from her experiences on tour with bands, the real struggle of dating in your twenties and just trying to survive as an adult human female generally, Portia writes about what it's really like for women who don't find this life stuff as easy as it seems.
