I would like to thank Bookouture for sending me this in exchange for a fair and honest review.
My first thought is of the gorgeous cover it absolutely shouts out to me and brings a warm summer glow to my heart.
The book begins when we meet the lovely Darcy after she has moved to White Cliff Bay, she has always been put down by her parents and although she has taken a job she doesn't really want it's her chance to find herself.
Darcy meets Riley, the handsome but reclusive owner of the lighthouse on Rose Island. When she finds he is going to lose his home she decides to help him try to keep it, but not just because it's his but because it has its own significance to her Aunt.
I liked Darcy from page one she was an easily likeable characters. Riley I wasn't keen on, I don't know why I just couldn't put my finger on what it was about him. I guess I didn't click with him as a reader and for me that spoiled my enjoyment of this book.
As you all I know I love Hollys book's but for me this one just didn't grab me the way her books normally do. Normally I can't put them down but this one I found parts of the description a little tedious, the words just didn't flow and I would find myself skipping over then to get to the action.
Having said all that the book is an easy read and I will miss visiting White Cliff Bay. It was nice to catch up with characters from other books and would like to see more set around this gorgeous village.
